Shea is Associate Director, State Partnerships in the American Cancer Society’s South Region.
Shea develops and leads the deployment of strategies that promote cancer control priorities, and quality improvement measures in state-based systems, coalitions, health plans. Shea collaborates with these partners across the cancer continuum to increase utilization of cancer prevention strategies and cancer screening; to reduce barriers to care for cancer patients; and to engage partners in fighting cancer through the Society’s advocacy, corporate, community, and fundraising initiatives.
Shea has worked for the American Cancer Society for over 15 years. Prior to her joining the Society, Shea has experience in the field of public health, case management, and advocacy. Shea previously held positions in safety net hospital, wellness department, and the intensive care unit.
Shea Austin is a graduate of the University of Louisiana-Lafayette with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in health and wellness. Shea is also a Certified Health Education Specialist.
