The Arkansas Cancer Coalition hosted its September Quarterly Meeting on Sept. 8, 2026, bringing members and partners together for Coalition updates and a discussion focused on breast cancer control efforts across the state.
ACC Executive Director Trena Mitchell, MA, CNP, opened the meeting with organizational updates before welcoming Gwendolyn Bryant-Smith, MD, FACR, professor of radiology and director of breast imaging at UAMS Health, for a presentation on breast cancer control in Arkansas.
Dr. Bryant-Smith shared insights from her work with the UAMS Health Breast Center and the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Mobile Mammography program, highlighting ongoing efforts to improve breast cancer screening, early detection, and access to care for Arkansans.
The meeting concluded with member announcements and an opportunity for attendees to provide feedback.
Thank you to Dr. Bryant-Smith and all of our members and partners who joined us for this important conversation. We appreciate your continued commitment to reducing the burden of cancer across Arkansas.
