Ms. Brown grew up in Des Moines, Iowa and received a BSN from the University of Iowa, College of Nursing. She spent ten years with the Florida Department of Health managing programs such as the Florida Pregnancy Associated Mortality Review, and working with the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative to implement safety bundles for hemorrhage and hypertension in Florida birthing hospitals. She returned to the Midwest in 2017, and became the Women’s Health Section Chief at the Arkansas Department of Health. In this role, she was the Project Director for the Arkansas Title X Family Planning Services Grant which provides reproductive health services to 92 local health units, and directed operations for the maternity program, and the Licensed Lay Midwife program. In 2019, she began the role as ADH Cancer Prevention and Control Section Chief managing the states’ cancer control efforts including the Arkansas BreastCare program which coordinates efforts with a statewide network of providers offering no-cost breast and cervical cancer screenings and follow-up services.
