About the Symposium
Leading tobacco control, lung cancer control and youth advocates will present this powerful one-day symposium. This year’s theme is: “Protecting Our Future, Advocating for Tobacco-free Youth”.
Components will include:
- Policy and system change approaches to countering the tobacco industry
- A head-to-toe walk-through of nicotine’s effects in the body
- Co-facilitation and presentation by youth leaders
- Counter-marketing tactics for mobilizing youth
- Simulated learning experiences and testimonials
- Electronic cigarettes and other emerging products
- Presentation of the David Bourne Award
- Continuing Education Units: ACCME, ACPE, ANNC, CHES, RT
- Practical toolkits to guide your work
- Networking with colleagues from all over the state
Learning will be enhanced through group discussions, hands-on discussions, panels and team-based approaches. Content will be relevant for clinicians, health care providers, community advocates, youth and youth advocates.
