About the Symposium

Leading tobacco control, lung cancer control and youth advocates will present this powerful one-day symposium. This year’s theme is: “Protecting Our Future, Advocating for Tobacco-free Youth”.

 Components will include:

  • Policy and system change approaches to countering the tobacco industry
  • A head-to-toe walk-through of nicotine’s effects in the body
  • Co-facilitation and presentation by youth leaders
  • Counter-marketing tactics for mobilizing youth
  • Simulated learning experiences and testimonials
  • Electronic cigarettes and other emerging products
  • Presentation of the David Bourne Award
  • Continuing Education Units: ACCME, ACPE, ANNC, CHES, RT
  • Practical toolkits to guide your work
  • Networking with colleagues from all over the state

Learning will be enhanced through group discussions, hands-on discussions, panels and team-based approaches. Content will be relevant for clinicians, health care providers, community advocates, youth and youth advocates.
