Meet our speakers:
Lisa Vaden – Hospice & Palliative Care Association of Arkansas (HPCAA)

Before joining HPCAA as Executive Director in 2013, Lisa served on their Board of Directors and their Education/Planning Committee. In the provider world, she has 9 years of hospice experience, as well as 11 years of home health experience in administrative/educator roles. Lisa served as a member of the National Hospice & Palliative Care Organization’s Council of States Steering Committee and Professional Education Committee where she worked to promote and enhance quality end-of-life care through state and national activities.

In 2017, Mrs. Vaden was appointed to Arkansas’ “Palliative Care and Quality of Life Interdisciplinary Task Force” by Governor Asa Hutchinson. She also serves as a core member of the AR POLST Coalition. In January 2020, Lisa stepped down as HPCAA’s Executive Director, however, she continues with the Association working on special projects and providing education.

Craig Wilson, JD, MPA is the Director of Health Policy at the Arkansas Center for Health Improvement (ACHI), a nonpartisan, independent health policy organization that serves as a catalyst to improve the health of Arkansans.

Most recently, Craig has focused on legislation to develop a robust infrastructure and process for the collection of data for reporting health quality and pricing called the Arkansas Healthcare Transparency Initiative. He worked alongside the Arkansas Surgeon General and state legislators to develop and implement the Health Care Independence Program (also known as the “private option”) and its successor program, Arkansas Works, both of which use an innovative form of premium assistance to provide coverage to low-income Arkansans.

Craig is a graduate of Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas. He is an attorney licensed to practice in Arkansas, having earned his Juris Doctorate from Georgia State University College of Law and his Master of Public Administration from Georgia State University Andrew Young School of Policy Studies in Atlanta, Georgia.
